Does anyone know, e.g. from the script and/or screenplay, how old Ben Sanderson is supposed to be in this movie?
On one hand, his alcoholism seems very far gone, indicating a person in his 40s. On the other hand, he physical shape seems to indicate that he is younger. He has a workout shape that does not resemble that of most drunks. Perhaps early 30s.
Anyone who has info on this?
I would say late 30s, early 40s.

The script says 30s. I think he would be in his early 30s. Most alcoholics become really bad when they hit their 30s if they continue drinking. 20s is the time a lot of people get hooked on alcohol and then they can't get off it. Ben most likely became alcohol dependent the one or 2 years prior, having all the success he did in his professional/personal life. That isn't to say Ben just became alcohol dependent suddenly, but the progressive nature of alcoholism means you can hide it for a while, but once alcohol has more control over you, then you are hooked and this is the stage Ben got to with his alcoholism.
