Rosario is always mentioned as one of the main actors of Kids when her part was a lot smaller than that of Justin, Leo and Chloe, and about the same as that of some actors that are not generally considered that relevant in the film. The only explanation seems to be is that Rosario is the only big mainstream name that came out of Kids. Chloe is more of an indie actress, Leo is relatively unknown and Justin never became big.
shareI heard it was her first movie and she had no acting experience what so ever when she was cast, they found her on the street or something. She's had a good career so far considering if that is how it went down.
shareI do not think her name is used to promote the film, rather it is mentioned that this is her first film. The film was cast with unknowns at the time which helped make the film feel even more real, the same way the unknown cast in City of God has the same effect.
She was plucked off the street and made a career off of THIS role. She isn't one of the 2 major characters but she still is central to the plot.
shareI haven't seen any examples of anybody doing any sort of promotion for this movie in 20 years. But if they were doing any recently, they'd be pretty effing stupid NOT to use Rosario Dawson. Duh.
