This or Blade Runner?
??
shareBlade Runner
shareblade runner. but this movie is awesome.
shareTheatrical release BR > director's cut BR > Snyder cut JD > JD
In all honesty, I like the newer "Dredd" more than all of them.
You rate the Theatrical BR with the annoying narration better than the director's cut?
Also what is "snyder cut JD"?
I like the voice over. It gave it a film noir feel. I know I'm in the minority. Though I like the movie, I have always thought that it skated on 2 or 3 exquisite scenes and the powerful Vangelis ST.
Clue: Zack Snyder had nothing to do with Judge Dredd.
Yeah I think you are in the minority on that; the narration does not add anything really to the plot; the visual story telling tells the same thing; not only that Harrison Ford clearly was not happy doing it and he sounded droll and disinterested. The narration IMO makes the theatrical cut almost unwatchable. In fact I hated this film for years until someone convinced me to watch the ultimate cut and it was amazing.
I know Zack Snyder has nothing to do with Judge Dredd. so you were making a joke that something that doesn't exist is better than something that does?
As I said, I know I'm in the minority.
You see the gears of my attempt at being clever. A "Snyder cut" being a blank screen (and also an off-topic dig at JL fans).
Yeah it was hard to get the context of your Joke since Snyder and Justice League have literally nothing to do with Judge Dredd or Blade Runner; I mean the only thing in common at all is Justice League is getting a and Blade runner has a director's cut. Judge Dredd down not; there is only one version. It makes it difficult to get the joke without the context.
shareI attempted to surf the wave of "SnYdEr CuT nAoW!" fanatics and diminish it by way of associating it with the Judge Dredd movie. I thought there was a street there and not this cliff.
share" I thought there was a street there and not this cliff."
lol; Now that is funny.
at least we can find humor in your failed attempt. :)
That narration is straight up dogshit, and even if Harrison Ford wasn't hamming it up on purpose it still would've sucked
shareI'm a huge film noir fan (I go to a yearly Noir Film Fest in my town). BR had me hooked right from the get-go in the theater as a sci-fi noir. Look at me as a victim of my taste bias.
Even though I liked it and praise the iconic scenes, I have always thought that it got more praise than it deserved. It is a 8.5 or 9/10 movie that is championed as a 11/10. That may seem like splitting hairs but you know how BR fans are with this. There is a difference.
I quote BR all the time and most people are oblivious.*
*Reminds me of a story. In the late 80s, I met a punk-rock guy at a party named Flatdick who would only communicate via quotes from Mad Max and Road Warrior. Pure genius if you knew the movies. Mystifying blather if you didn't. Got wasted talking to him while someone kept replaying the entire Queensryche album Operation Mind Crime. There was nearly a punker vs metal head row. Some MDC and GBH cooled the fire. I made a movie bet that night that would have got me a tattoo had I lost. I remain inkless to this day. I wish I could remember the bet.
judge dredd > any zach snyder film
