Art film / Director's Cut / Remake / Something Else

What would you choose?
Do you wish they would have made an art film since they were eager to make it as such instead of big budget blockbuster? Sounds intriguing, probably would be somewhat like Pi by Darren Aronofsky.
Is there any chance to get the Director's Cut (like, really, not the Japanese prolonged version, but genuinely the director's vision)? I'd personally pay to see it no problem.
Remake? Anyone?
Or lets just lobby for a good movie adaptation of anything Mr. Gibson wrote.
