Right at the end...

Love this film, think it's fab - was just wondering if anyone else had noticed right at the end that Ian McKellan's character William is wearing his wedding ring on the wrong finger in the wedding scene?

Europeans wear their wedding rings on their right hands.

reply

nobody i knows does

reply

Well plenty that I know do.

reply

To the best of my knowledge, Brits were their wedding ring/s on their left hand.

reply

I am British and yes we do wear wedding rings on our left hand. I thought everyone wore their weddings ring on their left hand

Matthew Followill is so purty. And he has dimples to make him purty

reply

Agreed - I'm Australian and we wear our wedding rings on our left hand too. All the Brits I know do too (my family is from the UK).

reply

Russians & Spaniards wear wedding rings on their right hands. I've never noticed what other mainland Europeans do.

reply

Everyone from the English speaking countries wear it on their left. Everyone from mainland Europe wears it on the right. Other countries around the world vary. I know in Japan it's on the left, for example, but in Suoith America it's the right.

reply

He has it on the correct hand, just not his wedding finger. It is on the pinky finger. My guess is the prop ring didn't fit correctly.

reply

Or William chose to wear it on his pinky :) Not all men chose to wear wedding rings, and if they do, many of the older generation wear it on their pinky (a signet ring). Prince Charles recently remarried & wears his on his pinky.

reply

Roman catholics wear their wedding ring on their left hand, protestants on their right.
