I know he took pills with alcohol, but what were they? Sleeping pills? That was the saddest movie I think i hav ever seen.

The pills he took were Seconals, prescribed sleeping pills.

Try watching Murial's Wedding. I cried my butt off while watching It's My Party - but Murial's Wedding made me want to slit my wrists with depression after seeing what her life was like.

He took Seconal - seconal is not JUST a sleeping pill, but one of the strongest sedatives that can be taken orally, and is known for quite a few famous peoples deaths due to accidental overdose. It's rarely prescribed now that benzodiazipenes popular, since seconal is a dangerous drug.
