Shallow From Start to Finish

When this film opened, I read mostly negative reviews, so I skipped it.
Since it's on Youtube, I gave it a whirl. The reviews - at least the
ones I read - were spot-on. This is a well-meaning, but totally shallow
film, riddled with cliched characters and trite dialogue. Margaret
Cho - a comic who simply cannot act - is nothing short of dreadful
and Gregory Harrison - a total no-talent, who made his career from
being Mr. Stud - has all the depth of a bowl of steam.

Eric Roberts and (the incredibly wasted) Lee Grant are the film's big
strengths, but with only one-dimensional roles, they can only go so
far, despite their enormous talent.

Too bad, as sincerity abodes, but I simply wasn't drawn in and really
didn't feel anything about Nick, his friends, or his relationships.
