Book reference

Does anyone know what book Evie's friend is reading from in one of the last scenea? It happens as they are driving past the motel, and the friend who is sort of okay with Evie being with Randy and she says something like "There were times when I knew kissing (a girl's name, I couldn't quite tell what it was) was not enough, but I didn't know what else I could do. And until I knew..."

The book's called Rubyfruit Jungle, by Rita Mae Brown.

"Born to unmarried parents, Molly Bolt is given up for adoption, and taken in by a penniless Southern couple who are determined to provide her with a better life. But when Molly finds herself powerfully attracted to other women, she learns that the world is full of intolerance — she is expelled from college on charges of moral turpitude, but soon finds her true home in a larger world. Rubyfruit Jungle is a poignant autobiographical story about growing up lesbian, which has increasingly gained in popularity since it was first published in 1983."

(I got this synopsis from http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/ btw- wouldn't want to plagiarize!)

I sort of want to read this book now, but I sort of doubt my (Catholic) school library would have it... :(
