What's the deal with the name Sutter Cane?

I think it kind of echos Stephen King, especially with the typeface used. but Sutter? Apparently it is an actual name, I've never met or heard of anyone with the name Sutter. I feel like it's a reference or an anagram, but I can't figure it out

It's an anagram of Nutter Case?

I know what you mean, it feels like there's something up with it.

It's clearly a Stephen King nod, with the S.C. and S.K. sounds. But the name is so unusual that it just *looks* like it must be anagram.

I think it's actually just a kind of creepy, Lovecraftian name. Obviously Cane is a name associated with evil, Cain was cursed by god etc. Sutter is an old-fashioned, archaic American name, it suggests origins stretching back in time.
