Absurd movie poster/ movie in Japanese

So first off, the movie poster is absurd...it's got a picture of the guy with a GUN, even though the whole movie is about swords. Just dumb.

Of course we all realize the absurdity of the white guy beating a ninja master. Also, why didn't he just take the first flight back to New York? Not until he gets to the island does he come up with the idea. Fool. But of course, if he had gone back to NYC, there'd be no movie.

Also, anyone else notice that almost a 1/4 of the movie is in Japanese??! wtf? I have no problem if it's in a foreign language, but subtitles? Sure you see plenty of movies where characters say something in a foreign language without subtitles because it's deemed to be trivial dialogue to the plot. Fine. But in this movie, there was so much in Japanese that at times you were totally clueless, even from body language. My only explanation for it is that the screenwriter wanted to put us in the white guy's shoes as well, since he couldn't understand Japanese. But that makes no sense. Moreover, there are plenty of scenes where there are only Japanese people speaking and the white guy isn't there.

What a crap movie hah.

I liked the poster, i didn't expected that the main character would actually use a sword.
If you are okay with reading subtitles, why you whine about that? The film takes place in Japan, do you expect that all the dialogues should be in english?
