Sub-titles are a huge problem

This film was one of two included on 1 disc. Stand alone film may be different. At any rate, both Chinese and English white sub-titles are provided. The problem is that the background is often white. So white on white means at least 30% of the words are unreadable. All you can do is watch the action and figure it out. The ship is white inside and outside. The sky is white (don't ask me why), lifeboats white, bedspreads white, most of the dinner jackets and all of the shirts are white, table cloths are white, baddies often wear white coveralls and so on. Some of the dinner jackets are black and the ship has brown wood accents. Other colors are largely absent and this had to to intential for whatever reason. Why aren't these films sub-titled in yellow?
