I crave a movie about faithfulness in marriages.

OK, yeah, interesting movie, whatever. But why add yet another to the zillions of movies about adultery. We get it, sometimes there are bad marriages - but for pete's sake, not ALL are like that. Would some enterprising producer look into making a movie about faithful people? I know, it sounds crazy, maybe even shockingly unusual.

Well, at least this movie taught me that: a tall, good looking guy can say the dumbest sh*t and get away with it.

it's my opinion that more people cheat than not.

I think... most of the characters aren't adulterous in this film.

I can understand the frustration, but there are quite a few 50 year marriages where some godawful compromises have taken place, all the while presenting a great public front. People can smooth over a lot, for good and bad reasons, when maintaining the marriage is important to them. Sometimes it's for history, the kids, comfort, routine, or any number of factors.

In the past most women were tied to men by their lack of earning power. Now more can leave, or be left.

I'm willing to be a lot (A LOT!) of 50-year marriages lasted so long not because of genuine love, but because of other factors, one being that divorce is NOT an option no matter what. Those who have been married for 50 years grew up in a very different time than we do. A time where you stick it out, and if you don't, you go to Hell. It was a woman's duty to be married to her husband and have kids.

So yes, many people have stayed together for 50+ years, but how many of them are actually happy?

Happiness is a state of mind. Something that you find within yourself and not a gift from another. People who have marriages that last a lifetime recognize that it's not about making the right choices, but rather making your choices the right ones.

So interesting, There are so many movie viewers who would like this yet it is so rare. I just don't see how so many women continue to be mesmerized by trying to find out weather the grass is greener on the other side before at least trying to work it out. The thing is most of the time women are used for an easy lay because the guy knows exactly what the are looking for and acts accordingly although you never see it in films.

Most people who have long marriages are happier, so I'm guessing that most in 50+ year marriages had happy unions.

Yeah, I have to say, I agree, haggar. There were so many relationships in this film that depressed me. I know not all of life is happy, but I know of so many couples in reality that have had loving, faithful marriages, and I feel like we need more films with storylines like that.
