A goof
When Constance lost her husband and was in the diner smoking. She left and the sign on the door said no smoking
shareThat wasn't necessarily a goof...I think that was intentional. It was showing that she was a regular at this diner, that they let her smoke, despite it being a "no smoking" zone. Very common small-town sort of quirk. Also, she had just lost her husband, and was grieving, and the people working at the diner probably knew that, since it was, again, a small town.
