What is the message here, exactly?

That most men are b*stards who cannot really love and commit to a woman? That there is no such thing as a relationship in which both parties are faithful? The only relationships in the film that did not end horridly with hate and betrayal and deceit and abandonment were the one-night-stand and the marriage in which the husband died.

And why did they throw in the part where she calls home and some woman answers? Simply to justify her own bad behavior? We can clearly see she dialed the wrong number because she wasn't looking at the phone until she dialed the last few numbers and that was after a pause.

What a bunch of crap.

Oh and gee, the writers and director were all women. What a shock. Clearly a bunch of dried up, bitter hags who need to get laid. And some muscle relaxers.

It seems to be a film tailored to disappointed single women. I have been married for almost 25 years and I'm watching it now. It's really boring.

did we watch the same movie?
it was a movie by women for women. a movie about love. and failure by both sexes. i did not get a all men are... message from this at all. i saw men who tried. and i saw it when it came out, years later, last night and again right now.
each woman had her own story of a time in her life she felt love. thats all. and the women together just show what is important, to have a strong circle of friends.
and to believe in love ~

@daughterofolaf

What a dumb and sexist thing to say---why the hell does EVERY movie that's about women and their issues always have to be declared as some man-hating piece of garbage? Especially when there are WAY more movies that only portrayed women in general as b*****, whores,nagging wives, or pretty blond hot chicks who are there for no reason but to make the main male character look good/assure audiences that he's straight/are always ready to service his macho,chest-beating,borderline abusive,domineering a**. Or they're just there to bow down and kiss his a**/put up with his issues and bull**** just because he's a man and he's got a d***,and it's all about his damn sexual needs, no matter how much of a sleazy,lying-a** ho ho he really is. Seriously, I guess some men simply can't deal with a film that isn't all about THEM for a damn change. Get over yourself and go watch some Transformer flicks or something.

That all men are terrible, and inferior to women.
