It's a Wonderful Life?

I just finished watching It's a Wonderful Life and posted that I don't love the film like other do, despite it having so many elements I like in a film. Someone else posted about the false hope of the message. Maybe that's why I don't love it like others and do enjoy this one so much. I can suspend disbelief for a film that's more fantastical, but if it's trying to be realistic then I'm going to be a realist. For other Home for the Holidays fans, how do you feel about It's a Wonderful Life?

I love "It's a Wonderful Life." I don't think it gives false hope...family does come through sometimes, and sometimes they don't. Both movies are valid view points with their own messages.

It wasnt so much false hope about his family as it was about the society in which he lived. the message that you can have an epiphany and all will be well, end of story. Usually when people have epiphanies like that they feel great at first then they get back to reality and it's not as great as they felt at that moment. Home for the Holidays isn't like that. If everyone kissed and made up I don't think so many who love this movie would like it so much. Many have posted that the fact that it's so realistic is exactly what they love about it.

Frank Capra 1947. Jodie Foster 1995. We have both on DVD and cannot have Thanksgiving and Christmas without them.
