30th January 1968
What's with the date "30th January 1968"? Is it a reference to anything, or just a random date pulled to make the joke about when Sutherland stopped trusting Lithgow?

i think it's the funniest crime caper, with the greatest one-liners in a movie period,, it's a 10plus for me,, one of my all time favorite movies, ic ouldn't stop laughing the whole way through
are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite
30 January 1968 was the beginning of the Tet Offensive in the Viet Nam War. Perhaps Lawton knows that Col. Livingston had something to do with it.
shareSutherland's character served under Lithgow's in the Vietnam war so I would imagine it's got something to do with that. A betrayal maybe?
