hollow point, hollow writing

bride leaving the church.....

"if anybody moves, he gets it"

yeah, an officer of the law has the legal right to shoot a suspect she's holding by the arm just because someone in the church stands up to interfere with her arrest.

professional hearing:

"so tell us why you shot the suspect?"

"because another man in the church ran into the aisle."

you can't just shoot people; only in response to being shot at. that and a few other things... (its playing now) ...may place this one on my drunk movie list.

stand by....

Not very realistic I agree, but then it is a fictional film so doesn't have to be realistic.

Actually, terrible plot, terrible story, but generally good writing, specifically good dialog.

Check the quotes page. What 5.8 with one piece of trivia has a couple dozen quotes? I know this is an awful movie, but still quote it regularly. Without attribution, as I don't want anyone to accidentally see it. Or know I did.

Which makes it a weird movie, and one I'd set as homework if I taught writing. These various facets are different, and it would be fun to deconstruct disasters like this to find out why it can have good dialog, and a bad story. How does that happen?
