Many want to know about the music...

...including myself, of course.

About seven years ago I contacted the music editor for the film, Marty Simon, to ask about the soundtrack list. I caught him between business trips but he did mention one of his favorite pieces used in the film (including end credits) was Alfred Schnitke's "Theme from an Imaginary Soldier".

In addition to that, as has been mentioned on this board and other forums, Arvo Part's haunting music is used extensively throughout the film. Specifically, sections of the following compositions: Tabula Rasa, Arbos, Te Deum, Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten, Sarah Was Ninety Years Old, Fratres for 12 Cellos, and Stabat Mater. I have also read somewhere that Henryk Gorecki's 3rd symphony was also used.

Each of these can be found on youtube.
