Racism in the 90s

I was in high school when this movie came out and went and saw it at the dollar movie with a Hispanic kid from school.

There was a lot of racism in my high school. Myself and other white people were bullied everyday just because we were white. There were more minorities in the school and most of the white people never looked out for each other. Everyday it was white boy this and white boy that. I got choked the first week of school, got burned with a cigarette lighter, got sucker punched while trying to apologize for accidentally hitting a black kid with a small piece of wood. I could tell countless stories. I knew several white kid that dropped out because they couldn't handle the bullying. It was mostly in the 9th and 10th grade, by the 11th grade most of the ghetto kids were gone.

You couldn't turn the TV on without a black comedian making fun of white people or a talk show talking about race. Talk shows like Sally Jesse would let the black people talk bad about white people, but the crowd would shout down the white person the moment they spoke. Of course the media was always hyping up all the race stuff.

I had to deal with ghetto customers at my job who were rude and disrespectful. Black people starting trouble in checkout lines in stores.

I really got to where I was hating black people. It took a few years, but I learned trash is trash no matter what the color. Once I started avoiding low life people my outlook changed. I think in general were have wised up and moved past all the racism. It's still there, but things are much better.

This movie seems funny now, but the director was telling the story how blacks and whites saw race at the time.

I just barely watched this for the first time last night, and it is weird how cheesy it is considering the era that it was released in. I was also in high school when this came out. There was a ton of racial tension during the time so I'm sure it was at one point a very poignant story.

It's a sad thing that your adventures have ended here
