Ain't That Good!!!

I was hoping to see a better film by a great novel by Dean Koontz. I saw Koontz novel adaptations like Watchers, Watchers 11, Demon Seed, etc. and they where alright. This one was kinda boring too.

I thought it was rather scary myself, but then again I'm something of a wuss. The visions of death and hell were pretty graphic, and maybe even believable. Not having been there myself, thank God, I really can't judge. In my opinion, the special effects at the end were more the stuff of battles in outspace than a true spiritual battle. It reminded me of the Mummy movies. The first one was great, but the second one lost me with the physical appearance of the scorpion king. Please, if you're going to use special effects for something most people haven't experienced at least make it more believable. That's the heart and soul of the fear factor that makes people watch these movies. It could actually happen to us!

I just saw it for the first time today, I really liked it. Great movie, but the ending I didn't like. The alternate ending was much better. Still a good thriller movie.

I realllly liked the book. It was my first Dean Koontz novel and I enjoyed it very much. The movie compleatly ruined the book. Instaed of a crippled 8 year old they had to have a hottie, not that I don't like Alicia- she's on my list, but it lost some of the effect. They killed of people that didn't die in the book. The ending in the book explained everything and was just perfect, but the movie just had to come down to a stupid fist fight, with some lame special effects. I can see why Dean Koontz hated the movie. Another book adaptation went wrong (E.G. Jurasik park)
