Anyone who has this movie marked as one of the favourites?

Am i the only one enthralled by this movie? Performances were plain great, the lead actors performance was the best in ages, and suprisingly, Tyler actually had some talent out there.

Really good shots, pretty good use of sound...

Anyone else actually gets fascinated and depressed at the same time whatching this movie?

I think the movie is really beautiful. Unfortunately when I recorded it, my recording cut off the ending of the movie where Victor was at the small grocery store again peering through the milk bottles at the woman that is back there and it looked like the Gatorade bottles at the top were about to topple down on him. Then, my recording cut off. Can anyone tell me how it ends?

No you are not. I found this a really beautiful film - understated - yes boring - no way! The kind of love that Victor (what a performance from Vince) has for the beautiful Callie (Liv Tyler - wow)is portrayed so innocently yetso powerfully.

This film stayed with me for a long time.

Everything about this film was remarkably beautiful. I didn't know it was so hard to get ahold of. That's a shame because I would really like to have it. I guess I'll start looking now!

I saw it on tv awhile back and was completely captivated by the story, how well it was told, and the great direction it had.

You hit the nail on the head... Fascinating yet depressing. It's terribly beautiful, but I remember seeing it with a knot in my heart, as we say here (don't know the english translation but I'm sure you understand me ;)The setting (that feeling of despair, boredom and being trapped in that ugly bar), Victor's loving yet destructive relationship with his mother, it all crates a very... "heavy" atmosphere.

Pruitt Taylor Vince just nails this kind of characters, and Liv Tyler creates a very special character as well... She used to make movies that had something special to them, hope she'll go back to it soon!

I'll never forget this movie. Moving and beautiful. Most every woman has had a man like this in their lives. They portrayed the feeling dead on! Uncomfortable, yet so touching at the same time. An exciting mixture of creepy and tenderness is what came out of this and it was a great recipe for a fantastic film. I agree, everyone did a great job in this one.
