I've been posting on IMDB on and off since 2004...I've gone years without posting, but recently became quite a bit more active since last year. It's a bummer, but I understand why they're doing it. The amount of trolling is disgusting.
I hope IMDB is keeping peoples' accounts active with their movie ratings history and watchlists. I spent a TON of time trying to recall all the movies I've seen and rating them...I'd hate to lose all that data.
It's too bad that boards with street cred, like this one, are getting swept up along with all the other ones.
If anyone starts a similar board elsewhere, be sure to link it here or tweet it under #MichaelMann or something.
Actually, I take it back: the trolling isn't really bad on the movie-specific boards, like Heat.
But I NEVER go to the politics or general chat sections...that's a recipe for disaster, and that's probably where the worst trolling offenses occur.

shareThank you for welcoming me ) I miss IMDb msg boards already, admire ya'll trying to replace it though.Certainly give this site and chance it's hard to replace a site that had multiple features like they do because they have a lot of different features all in one place which was very convenient like having movies that are coming out in the movie theater along with every movie ever made with all kinds of did you know facts or the like and many other features that all Blended together perfectly. But it's not perfect anymore because I can go and look at all that information still but I have to go somewhere else now to discuss it which is not the way it should be it just makes things more difficult.... thanks IMDb but by removing that feature which was very popular
