Predictable ending ***SPOILERS***

Am i the only one who found the ending rather banal. during the dinner scene when the Meriell's were teasing nanny about the ghost, even my 11 year old step brother said "What's the bet they are the ghosts?".
The fact that Nanny Tess killed them did come as a bit of a surprise but the rest was really quite unimaginative.
I would just like to say, however, that despite that fact, I loved this movie.

I was actually caught off guard, especially when David saw Christina and Robert kissing while he was painting her nude. Never did I imagine it would be a case of incest. That's what threw me off. I was thinking they were impersonating the dead siblings and wanted their hands on the estate or something and that the family was in fact haunting the place. But it should have been a clue when he showed up at the dr's home and it was empty and it was apparent they must have all been ghosts. And it is a very good movie due to the great performances of the cast. Great chemistry between Beckinsale and Quinn.

you didn't predict the incest? how could you not? it was so obvious. The impersination part is a great theory though. i wish i'd thought of that.

I didn't predict the incest because I didn't really think that with them acting like that they actually were brother and sister. That really threw me off. So that's why I was thinking more along the lines that they were impersonators tormenting the Nanny but that the house was actually haunted by the dead mother and siblings. But great movie and glad I came across it on the Chiller channel. I now own it!

In all fairness, when this film first came out, the ghost perspective hadn't been done to death by Hollywood. It was fairly original (for a film). Fast forward to one watching it in recent years would guess it.

Was going to say something simolar myself, I caught it randomly on television at about 1am was hooked and totally didnt see the twist while being completely creeped out the entire time, excellent and scary film if you watch it in the right circumstances.

Shamalan and over usage turned the twist into a cliche, a shame really but inevitable
