Criminally under-rated

This has been my favorite Halloween sequel since I saw it in the late 90s. Far more enjoyable than 2, 4 and 5. Obviously not as big budget as H20 but on par in terms of entertainment. The writer did the best they could with the muddy MIB/thorn storyline introduced in part 5. Acting is far superior from everyone involved vs part 4/5 and a dark seriousness returns. Third act is obviously weak (in either cut, personally I prefer the theatrical) but overall it's not a bad entry to the series. My only regret as far as H6 is they didn't pay Danielle what she wanted - the new Jamie is far inferior, but doesn't last long anyway.

The Strode house gives off a great fall atmosphere.

Yeah, maybe the best that house has looked. The kill of the mom character is one of the best daylight kills in the series.

This movie is awful

It's a bit of a mess but I liked it more than 4 & 5. It's shot way better with a nice atmosphere. Paul Rudd is comically weird, like he's in a different film.

I gave it a 5 out of 10, Maybe because of the hack job they made of it in the editing.

Whereas 4 and 5 got a Four.

Looking back on my scores seems I didn't like them too much and I remember suffering through most of the sequels and enjoying the original of course, part 2 and 3. After that the bar is very low.

I'd give it 6.5. 4 I give a 3 and Part 5 = 1. lol
