whats up w/ sam missing a front tooth...i know he explaned in the movie,mugged, but why...does sam(larry) have a tooth missing and just thought he would write into the scrip...what was the point???

Well, it's possible that there was an accident or incident that happened and resulted in the loss of the tooth. For all we know, Larry may have been mugged and lost his tooth in RL and just incorporated the detail into the film (Note, in the making of on the DVD, he did not originally intend to play Sam, but then decided to do so a little ways into preproduction because he knew it would be easier for him to get the emotional state of Sam correct. Plus, he saw himself visiting the archtype of Sam every once in a while, even joking about doing a "mid-life crisis version of "Habit").
But this one's eatting my popcorn!
Larry Fessenden (Sam) misses his front tooth in real life too :)
