in my state elementary is k-5, middle/junior is 6-8, and high is 9-12. sometimes if districts are over crowded they have special campuses where intermediate school is 5-6 or they'll have ninth grade centers for just freshman to ease them into high school, or they'll have senior center bldgs of a high school campus where underclassmen are prohibited. very rarely do i see an elementary school go k-6, and thats not in my city in my state. but it sounds weird to have elementary as k-6, then middle/junior as 7-9, then high as 10-12. that blows my mind.
Some people call it a Cul-de-sac. I call it a Dead End
