Did Gordy live?

Rather morbidly, I've always wondered if the "actor" who played Gordy was sent back on the path to the slaughterhouse given the film's lack of success compared to Babe (I remember reading that in response to public inquiry, the owners of the pig in Babe - used for the non-animatronic shots - guaranteed he would not end up as bacon). Kind of unfair, if you think about it - after all, it's not Gordy's fault the film was a flop...
