which one was released first? anyone know which one copied off the other

Its hard to say which one copied which or if one was a copy at all but babe was released in august of 95 and gordy was released in may. Many times in hollywood a general concept or a script leaks out well before the release date and then a sunstandard movie is thrown together in no time to beat the original idea. I'm not saying that's the case here.

Curious history about "Gordy." It was actually filmed three years earlier, in the spring of 1992. It couldn't get released and sat on the shelf until Babe became popular. So "Gordy" was filmed first but released last. I was an extra (or background artist) on this film.

You mean Babe or Gordy? Well techniclly Gordy was made first but it was one of those things that sat on the shelf then Babe got released and that made Gordy get released.

Also Gordy is based on Arnold Ziffel from Green Acres.
