Best movie ever to me . . . & here's why

I watched this movie on a rented VHS years ago - must have been 2001.

I loved it so much, I got my dad to watch it.
He was born in the early 1920's and altho this movie is his own fathers era -I knew my dad was a good ol' country boy & would deeply identify with the movie.

My dad was not a guy who laughed - a small smile and a little grunt meant you had really cracked him up - but he grinned from ear-to-ear throughout the movie and actually laughed out loud a couple of times - the spooked mules & wagon scene was his favourite, & when Hewey made the dog pee on Fat's trouser leg . . .

My dad is long gone, but I'll never forget his reactions to this movie, and more great stories it sparked of his own childhood afterward, bc he also loved cars, & was a WW2 pilot & mechanic.

So in case you ever read this, here's a huge thanx for that memory with my dad Tommy Lee - I think this movie is the very best of all your great movies.

When I finally started shopping Amazon this DVD was over $29 and remained so for a few years! Eventually it want to $17 ...where it again held it's value for a few more years.

(after watching the price hold for so long & waiting impatiently for over 6 years I finally was determined & got this movie on DVD!!
(a little less than $17
;)

If you're a western movie lover, your collection will never be complete without this rare, relatively unkown gem.

It's likely the most sweet, clean, funny, sad, best-cast, and the most real thing you'll ever watch.
