The answer to the riddle: "You sit on it but you can't take it with you"

In the movie, the answer is exactly 5 letters, otherwise I would say "toilet". (In case you're wondering, the Russian word for toilet is 6 letters too, "tualet")

The answers I've seen are: "chair" (which doesn't make sense, because some chairs you can take with you), "privy" (which is old fashioned, but I thought might work, because the movie is British and the characters are Russian), and "floor" (which I guess is the best answer)

Is there a real answer? Like from the script writer or director?

In the film, Bond says 'chair', which Natalya types...

The thing is though it's not a very difficult riddle. In fact it's quite silly it's so obvious. You'd think a brilliant hacker like Boris would have more cunning riddles to stop people hacking him!

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time Del Boy, it's them that started me drinking!

Well that's not what the OP asked.

But I think that's the point. Intellectuals like Natalya would over think it - Bond gets it straight away but that's because he's got the street-smarts and doesn't get caught up in over thinking the small things.

I know. I wasn't replying to the OP was I?

It sounded like you were questioning the legitimacy of my response. And yet, you didn't acknowledge my response to your question, either.

"chair" bugs me because you CAN take a chair with you.

I honestly thought of chair right away but then thought no that couldn't be it and it had to be something more difficult.

Money. That's my answer.

Depends on what you mean by portable. There have been fold up lawnchairs for decades.

It looks like the answer was "chair" in the movie, which of course doesn't make any sense.

"Floor" would've been a better choice, or they could've just came up with a different riddle.

I am not showing off any degree of intelligence but I remember watching this film in the cinema over 20 years ago and got the riddle right away.
