Molly Morgan's age.

I can't recall the dates precisely, but doesn't Jody say that Molly Morgan was born in 1880-something? And that she was arrested as a 'crazy old mountain lady' in 1931 for brewing moonshine? So by 1980, the year in which this film is set, Molly would have been knocking on 100 years old. The lady who saves Jody doesn't look a day over 70. I don't know anyone past that age who could knock a beefy guy out with a spade in a cold damp steep mountain cave!

And if she'd lived up there the whole time, how come Jody never heard echoes from her moving about, or ran into her, if that was the only exit from the mountain? How come there were never any footprints left by Molly for the girls to find? She must have left for food and fresh air sometimes, and fuel to keep warm.
She was apparently able to obtain the services of a law firm by the end of the film, and keep up to date with the local news to find out what happened to the two girls, and she couldn't have done either if she never left the mountain. I doubt she had electricity and wi-fi up there for news reports, internet banking and conference calls!

I get that there's supposed to be a magical child-like folktale mystery element to the story, but showing Molly as a real present figure throws a spanner in the works. They would've done better showing her as a sort of dream-like apparition rather than a nice old grandma wearing a cardigan.
