Where can I find ORIGINAL, reg. 3 DVDs of all of the Godzilla films ??
Where can a brutha find ORIGINAL, GENUINE, FACTORY-PRESSED and STUDIO-ISSUED Godzilla DVDs???
I know Toho released a 3-disc uber-edition of Final Wars without subtitles.
And YesAsia.com has nearly all of Godzilla's movie in region 3/PAL format with subtitles, but they're all about $50 or higher.
And then there's all the ebya guys professing to sell "genuine Japanese versions" of the flicks, but they say that they are all-region and NTSC with subtitles.
That just doesn't seem right to me.
That spells either bootlegg, DVD-R or a direct DVD copy (menus, special features and all).
Which would be OK, but I have an all-region player and so I don't like to get bootlegs if it's not necessary.
Can someone throw me a link or direct me to a site that offers the REAL deal?
(region 2 or 3/PAL/subtitled/uncut, Toho-issued/approved Japanese versions) of the Godzilla catalogue????
So far my rare G-DVD collection runs as followed:
- Godzilla/Gojira 1954 (it's a region 4 DVD with both the UNCUT Japanese version, subtitled, and the crappy, edited, US version with Raymond Burr inserts)
- Godzilla vs Hedorah (an all-region, NTSC DVD from Taiwan that offers both subtitled and dubbed versions of the film)
- Godzilla: Final Wars (4-disc set from www.videodaikaiju.com- a perfect example of not getting a bootleg unless it was necessary; I didn't know when it was gonna get released in the US so I bought this bootleg that videodiakaiju subtitled themselves and also has a copy of the unsubtitled Japanese bonus discs with the movie soundtrack rounding out the 4th disc).
- King Kong vs. Godzilla (the new reissue that came with King Kong Escapes.
And then I've got all the new millenium G-flicks on VCD (except for Final Wars and Tokyo SOS which I have on copied- but professionally done- DVD.
