Why did the girls behave like Godzilla junior was a pet?

Why did Mikki Sakuza behave like it was her loving pet??? She calls it "The Little One" and she cries when it took a beating from the Destroyer. Why??? It is also a Godzilla which has come to destroy the city right?

And another important thing that bugged me right through the entire film was How did they control Junior's mind/brain and made it head towards Tokyo. How could anyone control a Dinosaur's brain???

She called it 'little one' because they had known Godzilla Junior since he was just a baby, and watched him grow up. He is much less aggressive than the grown up Godzilla and has none of the anger that Big G has...

They controlled his mind/brain because Mikki has psychic powers and is linked to Goji Jr :)

In the two previous films, he was friendly to humans. So in a sense he was "hand-reared" or tame.
