'What Incredible Radiation!'

That was the only laughably wierd quote in the movie, and I have to say that I loved this one. I've always wanted to see it, and the ending is so sad. Some people are angry that Godzilla didn't get his final attack on Destroyah, but I believe he did.

Godzilla might destory Tokyo everytime he visits, but he also protects it, and accepts help from the military occasionally. In my opinion, I think that he wasn't adverse to working with them to bring down a threat. I believe that without Godzilla's intense radiation igniting Destroyah, the freezing rays wouldn't have done what they did to him. (Think of the end of the original Fantasic Four movie.) They were working together, but while the military clipped it's wings, it was the King of Monsters that brought Destroyah down.

Also, while the death of Godzilla is sad, I guess I never really considered this to be the "only" Godzilla. I had always figured that the Godzillas you see throughout the series were different ones that grew up and moved on. However, this was still really sad as it kind of harkened back to the original Godzilla, and really tied the two together. I really liked this movie, it's too bad that the later series didn't link it's movies together. Maybe they'll start a new series and actually keep continuity this time.

Oh god, I've seen this line interpreted in different ways. On the SBS broadcast version I saw in 2003, the line appeared as "terrible radiation!" which seemed fine and almost poignant. But then I got the DVD in 2006, which said "The radiation levels are off the charts!"

According to the FAQ the director originally had Godzilla take down Destroyer with him during the meltdown. But instead Destroyer being badly wounded by Godzilla attempted to escape. I would prefer Godzilla to kill him, but instead he mortally wounded him. That spiral ray could destroy anything, Destroyer is the only monster to take more than two or three blasts from it without blowing up and he was getting it bad. Had the army attempted to use the freezing weapons without Godzilla's destructive power, the attempt would have been futile.

In short, Destroyer was killed in a combined effort.

Yes, that line has been translated manytimes. I hated the dubbed "WHat radioactivity!" Like they hired Keanu Reeves to say it.
