Question about Jr

Hi guys. I was reading through all these threads about the Destroyah movie and was wondering why you guys think that Jr survived and absorbed all the radiation at the end?
Did they show that or was it just left up to us to guess?

I saw a fuzzy bootleg of this back in 95 or 96 and must have missed something. I haven't watched the movie since because I was kinda pissed that Jr died AND Godzilla died.

Maybe it's time to watch it again but I would love to hear from you guys first.

Yeah... you didn't see Junior alive and the new King of the Monsters there at the fadeout?

This is not very clear in the film itself. But this is supposed to be Godzilla Junior, revived by the adult Godzilla's radiation, and mutated into a new adult Godzilla - a very Phoenix-like rebirth. Toho themselves have stated that this is the case. An early story concept for Godzilla Final Wars was even supposed to reference this, featuring the revived and mutated Junior as the Godzilla in that film. Enough fans also seem to feel that the Godzilla seen in Godzilla 2000 is supposed to be Junior, though there's absolutely nothing to support this, as Godzilla 2000 never makes any references at all to any other films or events.

There is something to support our view that in Godzilla 2000, it is Godzilla Junior and here is the reason: While I won't give the scenes out so as to spoil the movie for those who have not seen it, there are scenes where Godzilla is close to humans but does not harm some of them. This is something Godzilla Junior would do, but now he is not totally friendly as there is a scene when he is angered and goes after some people, but still does not harm them.

Junior's resurrection is a reference to Godzilla's birth in "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah." The Godzillasaurus on Lagos Island died because of its wounds. When it was transported to the Bering Sea by the Futurians, the cold water preserved its body. When the nuclear submarine crashed into it in 1977, the radiation revived and turned him into Godzilla.

The same thing happens to Junior at the end of "Destroyer".
