I'm trying real hard to enjoy this movie....

....but the channel it's on OVATION? Is making it really hard. It has chopped it up into a million peaces by constant commercial interruptions...I mean there are commercials at least every 7 minutes....that's atrocious.....

That's horrible. I saw it in the theater when it was released, and I loved it.

Man, I'm so jealous. Would've loved to see this in theaters when it first came out.

I was so lucky to see this in the theater. The mid-'90s was probably the last great era for movies, with an eclectic mix of indie films and mainstream fare. This one falls somewhere in the middle. Too bad it's not better known because it's one of Jennifer Jason Leigh's more daring performances (and that's saying a lot). It's also a fine vehicle for Mare Winningham's vocal and acting talent.

I was seeing several movies a week in the theaters then, and now I might see two or three a year at most – and many of those are freebies.

Man, I'm only 20 and would've loved to see some of my favorites in a theater. So many awesome flicks came out in the 90s, not to mention, my favorite actress was in her prime. I still go to the theater at least twice a month, it's one of my favorite things to do.

That's great that a 20-year-old has even heard of this film. I watch a lot of recent movies, but I rarely see them in the theater because it's so much easier and cheaper to watch them at home than in the theater.

There are still great films being made, but it seems like the mid-'90s was the last era for movies where I felt totally connected to the releases -- "Exotica," "Secrets and Lies," "Flirting With Disaster" and "Breaking the Waves," just to name a few others that come to mind immediately.

Yeah, it isn't exactly cheap, but I can't help it.

I encourage you to try and watch it without any interruptions. It's such a great film and I hate when commercials cut up a good movie.
