They should make a remake.

They should make a remake, but this time both should be hot chicks AND both girls should be bisexual, not just the wife. And of course without the homo business at the end, yuck! How come there is no such movie apart from Head in the Clouds and Vicky Cristina, but these aren't happy endings! There is simple no movie about 2 sexy girls and 1 guy in a happy ending, that's sooo rubbish! I mean why not? I'm sure it happens a lot in real life, there are bisexual women out there, out of 7billion people there must be quite a few arrangement like this!

Actually, many movies fit exactly with the description you give of what you would like to see, they even are easily accessible on the internet : they're called porn movies. Because let's be honest, that is what you are describing here.

On the other hand, this movie despite being a comedy addresses problems that are related to real life, with real characters, not caricatures. Because in real life, not all lesbians are hot twenty somethings.
And remember this movie was made in 1995, when it was still not an easy topic outside of caricatures (it may not be even now). That's what makes this movie great. I don't think what you describe would be half as interesting.

You are right, but then this movie (French Twist) is being made all the time, because male-bisexual porn is all over the internet as well.
If you say what you describe is based on real life and what I describe is caricature, that is outright insulting. That may was the case in '95, but these days, given the throng of movies about 1 girl and 2 love interests, I'd rather say: just because this is a "difficult" topic, that does not justify every second half gay director to try to tackle the challenge. That's pathetic and everyone with a half brain knows it.

What I'm saying is that what the movie describes happens in real life, and is more likely than what you describe, and that what you describe may also happen in real life but is mostly a male sexual fantasy, and thus is a lot more boring.

If you wanna see hot girls in movies, that may even be bi-curious, you can watch many series, frat movies or pornos for that, they're everywhere. How many times do you get to see a butch lesbian and her feelings in movies or TVs: Almost never. That's what I'm saying. And if you think that's an insult, then so be it.

Maybe it happens more in your real life, but I have never heard anything like it, in my reality. In my reality every single man I know would turn around and find another girl for himself, and would not let any spoiled brat like chick to think she is the center of the universe, when there are literally millions of other girls out there waiting for the taking. What you describe is nothing but what the XX.-th century cinema framed and planted into the minds of a generation of males who think that is reality. I will let you in a little secret, in real life women are desperate to find a (A!) man to look up to and fall in live with, no matter what the brainwashing feminist propaganda has been trying to drill into their brains and the only reason they would ever put up with men --who are so desperate to have her that they are willing to share her-- when there is simply no such worthy man around whom they could feel they would give up everything for. What you describe absolutely DOES NOT happen more often in real life. Period. I tell you this, based on 20 years of adult experience, well over 200 girls to sleep with and about 30 threesomes with 2 girls. I wonder what your record is about real life, apart from watching the fake version of it in adolescent fantasies of bi/gay male teenagers that came true in the feminist/ultraliberal Hollywood propaganda (literally all the time in almost every movies in the past 30 years, trying to "empower" women whether they want it or not, anyone?) and not in real life.
(And if you'd be a porn fan, you knew that 2 guys 1 girl porn has actually become the most popular in the past 5-10 years, exactly because of the shocker effect of a woman's perceived extreme slutness, which (after many years of porn watching) is the only thing that can make the TV screen so shocking that it could feel as it actually happened to the watcher. But just because the watchers with low self esteem believe that could be more likely happening in real life, that does not mean it really would be more likely. Unless so many men were actually bisexual it wouldn't. If they weren't then they would have a very limp dick in a real situation, far from the comfortable armchair provided ability to focus on the woman only...)

What you see about 2 girls 1 guy scenario in cheap movies is cheap yes, but that's because they try to leverage on something real and valuable what most of us (men and women) dream of and often act on it (well apparently not you). What leading artistic cinema does on the other hand, they have been shoving their cultural hegemony down our throat and the more they can frame and make digestible something that is against the general public's nature, the more it is a success in tackling the "difficult" topic. As I said, just because something is a difficult topic that does not warrant it to become a pet project for every single director who wishes to make a debut or a turn in their career. Maybe there IS a reason why it is a difficult topic, isn't it? Don't you think to take advantage of the contrast effects that could arise from a topic's difficult nature, is actually one of the cheapest form of "art"? Anyone can put random contrasting things next to each other, and see how people react.

What I described is NOT mostly a male fantasy. This is exactly what old porn and frat movies make you think, you see, you make a conclusion based on what? Based on frat movies? In reality the guy is not supposed to be the center, (even though in porn they often portray it like this), BUT everyone is supposed to be with the other two, and take turns in being the center. Any graceful human togetherness (not just sex) should mean "mutual reciprocation of attention between ALL participants". And how often do you get that from a 2 guys and 1 girl situation? Unless they are truly bisexual you won't, guys are way too proud for that, the most you can get is some detached fck contest, but not real togetherness.

Women love 2 girls 1 guy threesomes, because they are curious creatures and many of them value another woman's admiration (not just sexually) as much if not more than a man's. But a man's attention is welcomed too, because she can play the defenseless to complement his conquering nature. This is the same when a butch and a femme lesbian are together, so why not rather actually have the best of both worlds, such as in a 2 girls 1 guy togetherness?
In contrast, finding yet another low self esteem man to be an admirer is the cheapest and easiest thing a woman can do and women who don't drink or are not infinitely desperate for attention know this very well. You seriously need to wake up.

Wouldn't you agree that making a successful movie about a film topic that has become cheap because of cheap movies, like what I described, is more of a challenge than to shamelessly appealing to the contrast/shocker value of a traditionally "difficult" topic?

Man you're prolific.

I don't think we're on the same page here. What I'm saying is that there are a lot more butch lesbians in real life than there are hot lipstick lesbians, and also most men never get to have a 3some. If you don't think that's true, then you are living in a weird reality, not me. And that's coming from someone who has had 3somes with girls, thank you very much. But that's not the point.

By the way, please refrain from fantasizing about my sexual life, you're making me uncomfortable :)

It seems as though the OP is the typical straight male: hot, sexy, young lipstick lesbians are doing the Lords work (because it turns on the straight male-run culture) whereas "ugly" lesbians, dykes and lesbians who aren't interested in men sexually are the limbs of Satan. Not to mention gay men who these straight men have absolutely no use for.
You are quite right, Deoverian... the OP wants the typical girl-on-girl porn straight guys want (not that there is anything wrong with that per se) but he has trouble with a story that depicts realistic-looking lesbians/dykes and gays in general who have feelings and personalities and obstacles in their lives.
(By the way, I'm a gay man).

I don't have a trouble with any of those in moderation, I don't see why you got this message from my post. My problem is that a straight guy these days has to be a superman to get any respect, but any gay or feminist with a half brain can be edgy just because he is gay. Thanks to Hollywood and the divide and conquer style brain washing we get from our owners et al. And I am not going to take that "collective responsibility" crapload of bĂșllshĂt and neither that "now it's our turn" rubbish.
It is boring and currently there is so much of it that it is even flowing from all taps instead of water.
