Now on Region One Blu-Ray

Without any fanfare at all Mill Creek (who got the US rights from the now-defunct ADV) released Gamera Guardian of the Universe and Attack of the Legion a couple of weeks ago on a single Blu-Ray. The picture and sound on the first film are simply stunning. Legion is also better but since the DVD was one of the better DVD's I'd seen the difference is less dramatic.
Best thing is the list price is only $15.99. I got it on sale at Amazon for $12.99.

Wow.
I've seen both films, the transfer is excellent.

Watched the first film last night, and I agree, Mill Creek's transfer is just stunning. My only gripe is that there's no subtitling on the newspaper headlines and place signs. Otherwise, excellent.

That's great news, but it seems weird that they only include two parts of the trilogy.

It's $7.99 at Best Buy right now. I just watched the first film last night, really enjoyed it.

Although it says on the box Region 1 (for a Blu-Ray?) the disc of the 2 films from Mill Creek is Region Free. I am watching this on a Zone B player at the moment.

I snatched a copy of the Trilogy blu ray set out of the $7.50 bin at Walmart a month ago along with Mortal Kombat Legacy and The Road Warrior.
