Anyone catch the 'Overdrawn' reference?

Anyone else catch the reference to "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank" in this movie? It occurs when the slave and Annie pass by the movie theater that's playing Casablanca...

I'm referring to the MST3k version, by the way...

reply

i got it - crow says "hey mike, is there any way you can dopple me into casablanca?"

reply

Got that too. Just watched this today because there was nothing else on and it's one of the last season MST3K's that I just couldn't get into. Wonder why?

BTW...did the hooker become a nun or not?

reply

nope - she marries the jean-claude-van-dang guy - how predictable!

the best thing about this movie is the boxes.... oh and the forced-perspective hand puppets

reply

....I thought he died?

reply

unfortunately no he lived. and ya i caught the reference.

every day we die a little more.

reply

They don't get married. She becomes a nun and he becomes a counselor. At that half-way house for huge guys, I guess. Lol

reply

Wow. if you think that that was a reference, you must be rather stupid. It was a shot, of a car driving past a couple of buildings. It must be a reference to every movie that had a car driving past buildings ever! It had dinosaurs! It's a reference to Jurassic Park! Half of the people were fat! Must be a reference to Super-Size Me!!

Seriously. Not a reference. Idiots.

reply

Well, seeing that Crow asks Mike to "dopple" him into the movie, which is a direct reference to "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank"'s doppling, then yes, it was a reference.

Perhaps, before you decide to call people idiots, you should check to see that your head's out of your ass.

"It seems we are not all in agreement."
"I disagree!"

reply

Did it occur to you that perhaps the previous poster has not seen the MST3K version, therefore they wouldn't know about the "reference" that was alluded to in the original post?

...and your suffering will be legendary even in Hell!!

reply

Well, seeing that the original poster said, and I quote, "I'm referring to the MST3k version, by the way...", then no, that hadn't occured to me, as why would someone make such a stupid comment about something so obvious?

Oh yeah, it's the internet, and that's the norm.

Yeah, it did seem kind of dumb.

Lol, i heard a great joke about fighting on the internet. Having an argument on the internet id like being an athlete in the Special Olympics: Even if you win, you're still retarded. :P
