Why Does This Look Like Marc Caro Films?

Am I crazy? >>I just finished watching this and I was totally overwhelmed by the extent to which this film (at least the first third/half)felt like Delicatessen/ city of lost children/ marc caro work. But the cinematographer here is the great eduardo serra and he was not the cinematographer for those marc caro films. did anyone notice this similarity? alot of overhead shots/ big up close in your face close ups, tilted camera angles etc. I'm not sure I'm describing accurately the visual similarities; but whatever they were, they made for a big gut feeling for me.
