Similar films?

I can recall still shots from "Funny Bones" circulating in polish film magazines back in 1995/96, but - as its release was limited at the time - I was never able to catch it in cinema. Finally watched it yesterday and was delighted. Great dark humor, three-dimensional characters and a plot that makes you think twice what it was really about.

Can anyone recommend similar films in terms of cinematography, atmosphere, mood, etc.? All I can think of now is "The King Of Comedy" (which, accidentally, also stars Jerry Lewis). There were also some elements that reminded me of Marc Caro/Jean Pierre Jeunet early films like "Delicatessen" and "The City Of Lost Children". 2000 indie film "Hotel Splendide" with Toni Collette and Daniel Craig comes to mind, too.
