Any similarities with the Skip Woods' film "Thursday" (1998)?

Hi everyone, just wondering.

Its been a long time since I've seen this but I was curious, and I did see THAT film a lot recently, did anyone find any similarity (ies) between this film "Friday" (1995) and the later black comedy Tarantino-lite crime flick "Thursday" (1998) by Skip Woods with Thomas Jane in lead role?

Apart from the fact that both films are essentially crime comedy thrillers and have a day of the week in/as part of the title, would you say the two films are in any way similar?

And which film would you say is BETTER to you?
