Worst Film EVER

This is possibly the worst film I've ever seen. And I'm only half way through it.
Is Meg Ryan incapable of playing more than one character?

reply

First of all, the worst Meg Ryan movie is Hanging Up or perhaps Against the Ropes with that horrible accident.

This move is lighthearted clever comedy and is worth seeing for nothing else by Kevin Kline's rascally portrayal of Luc the French Thief.....and Meg Ryan's character making fun of him....."you pipple mek my ass twitch....my ass is twitching." And the French version of Dream A Little Dream

Sure is plays on Meg Ryan's strengths that being the bubbly little blond nymph..but is far from the worst movie.

You are forgiven.

Well, it's possible it's the worst movie ever (and it's possible that time travel actually exists)... or maybe it's just that you're a complete idiot... that would be my first guess!

...Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he doesn't become a monster...

I understand it's meant to be light hearted but that genre still deserves a bit of quality, which this film certainly does not have. i stand by my initial statement.

Perhaps:
- you woke up on the wrong side of the bed the day you saw it.
- you hadn't had your coffee yet
- you wouldn't like Meg Ryan if she showed up at your doorstep and offered to clean your house gratis
- you're a macho guy who thought this was 'Field of Dreams' when you were in the F section of Blockbuster
- you can't understand English but you write it better than you speak it
- you think all ferners are weird anyway.
Pick one!

Ha ha, I love your reply, mathmaniac.

To you who posted, you obviously have poor taste in movies. Or you just don't like romance? Either way, this is good movie according to me and everyone I know who has seen it. You are outnumbered, my friend.

This movie was not as good as I had hoped, however, it was still good. I still find it entertaining and worth seeing.

I really like this movie, It is one of my movies that I watch over and over. But I will agree with you about Meg Ryan. I'm not a fan of hers but it still doesn't ruin the movie for me.

the eternal sunshine of the mind is the worst movie ever made!

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a male who gets off on action movies...explosions, shootouts, one-liners...

I have to admit--this movie was actually not too bad. It is what it is...a light hearted comedy, not meant to be an Oscar winner but simply to entertain. Kevin Kline was good in this even with his stereotypical French accent (he's actually a very gifted actor), and Meg Ryan played the role she was typically cast for and meant to play. It was charming and amusing--I'll admit I've seen it more than once.

Worst movie ever made?? A bit melodramatic don't you think? Have you ever seen 'The Chase' with Charlie Sheen or 'Beverly Hills Cop 3'?? There are far greater flops and wastes of money in cinematic history...

"Never never touch my vine."

I just saw it today for the first time. It was ... o.k. I felt like it got to the point to slow; if there were any point at all. She whinned a little too much, Meg Ryan.

I LOVED this film! It's one of the BEST romantic comedies out there. Kevin Kline's accent is hysterical. I love when he makes fun of her and says, "You're French, aren't you?" LOL This whole movie made me laugh. And I love that song that goes "boom she boom she boom". It makes me happy everytime I hear it.

reply

I'm watching the movie now and I like it. Who cares if Meg Ryan is always the same? She's a likeable actress and NOT pretentious like most of them are. I'd like to see a list of your favorite movies, now THAT would be very interest.

reply

The OP is an idiot. Must be totally tasteless in movies. For its genre, this was one of the best - Meg as pretty and vivacious as ever, Kline in brillant form (even better than in 'A Fish Called Wanda'). Definitely one for the home library, to be watched whenever one is in the mood for some laughs and the feel-good factor.

I agreee, saw this in the theaters originally and liked it, but this movie has grown on me ever since, especially since there has been no effective replacement for Ryan in this type of movie genre. Havent' seen a good rom-com in years!
