The Penn State Dance Marathon, an annual 48 hour dance marathon is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. Last year they raised over $6,615,000. All the money raised is donated to The Four Diamonds Fund in Hershey, Pennsylvania for kids with cancer. The fund was named for Chris Millard after he wrote the story "The Four Diamonds". Below is an excerpt from the Four Diamonds website:

“In reality, Sir Millard was Christopher Millard, a talented 14 year old who struggled for 3 years to overcome cancer. Sir Millard and The Four Diamonds Fund was Christopher’s symbolic description of his fight against the evil and unpredictable cancer. In 1972 Christopher died from the cancer, a type that in many instances is curable today.” “His family started The Fund to assist others in their battle against cancer.

I'm not 100% sure about the source of this (wikipedia) but apparently it was rhabdomyosarcoma, which is how he came up with the evil witch, Raptenahad's, name. It seems to fit considering the symptoms seen in the movie.

This was a really memorable movie for me growing up and not one I've ever forgotten. I wish it was more attainable because I know a number of people, besides myself, who would love the chance to own it. I hope the parents one day decide to release it because its a very courageous story that I wish more people could see.
