The Music...

Does anyone remember the music from this movie? The composer is actually my choir techer.

effort: 9
the result: 3

worst musical moment: in the very beginning, the attack on the bunker scene. The music suggests something like a big epic, classic battle. the clash of the titans.. but the picture is 5(?) actors pathetically trying to run in their camouflage outfits. hehe, and music with the choir is all going "big epic decisive battle!!!!"
but who knows, the directors probably told him that they wanted music like that for the scene?
something going more for the patheticness of the child soldiers, the desperation of having kids fighting such an important battle would have been better.
most of the music sounds like slightly new'ish american concert music.. kinda like john rutter.. you know, that kind of "sound" and uhh.. let's call it melodic content.

after that the music gets better.. and then worse.. and then better again. just like the film itself does.

the music doesnt fit the movie well at all and cuts in and out with what sounds like the same thing over and over and over

Do you know where this music was recorded? Somewhere in Eastern Europe I suppose... Can you ask your teacher about it?

And why he didn's scored anything else since then?

Actually, I do remember the Choir Teacher. I am an old friend of Tim and Chris. I was there at the Fresno viewing of their 20 minute first version of the film, Just Cause. I have not seen the full length though.

I actually played in the entire score of this film. It was recorded in Nov. 1998, Saturday after Thanksgiving, at Chapman University in the city of Orange, CA. I'd say about 1/2 of the musicians were Chapman students, a few were players at USC, and then there were some ringers (professionals brought in). Hey, I can tell you this: the students at Chapman did NOT get paid. Instead, music director at Chapman, who shall remain nameless, took a "donation" to the school of music.

I can vouch for this...as I was in the choir! However, the vocal recording that day did not turn out so well and was re-recorded the following week. None of us have ever even seen the movie!
