Made in Disneyland

The Cinderella Castles at DisneyLand and DisneyWorld were based on French and German Castles built long after the Medieval period. King Arthur was supposed to have lived in the Dark Ages, before stone castles were built, but let us not worry about that little detail as most of us are happy with the fantasy legend.

Unfortunately, the use of the unrealistic castles and towns, Star Trek costumes and bad acting gave the film the cheesy look of the Republic Serials with added color, and what color! Blue, bright strong blue everywhere - like a Best Buy store. The film would have worked better as a comedy where the crew of the Starship Enterprise flew boldly into a time warp and arrived in Camelot with Q playing the bad guy. Or have they already done that?

King Arthur was fictional anywhere so does it matter?

Its that man again!!

Disneyland's castle was based on one specific castle commissioned by a mad king. The court room and costumes were picked to illustrate the end result of democratic civility of people living as equals. The costumes weren't as bad as you make them out to be.

It's a fantasy. What were you expecting? Wooden palisades with Roman legions in the background?

I don't know... Game of Thrones is fantasy, but it looks like a world that is lived in. This looks like Hollywood actors doing a skit.

Game of Thrones is fantasy ...
Well there you go! This is more of a fictional story surrounding some mythical characters. It may have swords, but it's a long, long, way from Game of Thrones. Yes, it has nice weather, no mud, shiny armour, plenty of bright colours and some beautiful imagery (Guinevere meeting Arthur for the first time midst the honour guard of flaming torches), but it's that type of romantic film. Game of Thrones it definitely ain't.🐭

Yeah, this is more of romantic fantasy, and I actually don't like that aspect (I strictly bought this because it had knights and sword fights), and not much more.
