the part after george bought nina the lingerie and like they were kissing and then it shows them sitting down on the floor....idk exactly what they were doing, but it sure didnt look like sex....was it supposed to mean that they just got done having sex and were like trying to recuperate??? lol

Yes. They had sex in the dark and they showed them afterwards enjoying a glass of wine. This is the "temporary moment of insanity" they refer to later in the Dr's office, ie when they conceived their baby.
