George and Nina in the car

In the scene where George and Nina are riding in the car just after finding out that Nina is pregnant, are each of them alone in the car in the shots where they are looking out the car window noticing other parents with children? And if so, is it a goof, or is that just an artistic statement of how separately they are experiencing the news that they are going to be parents again? I did notice under goofs that there is lack of continuity in that scene, regarding which direction the car is heading as the shots shift back and forth between George and Nina.
