Things to wonder about this movie

It is interesting how the father just seems to ignore the fact that he has a son. When his girl gets married and moves away he is all sad cause he has nobody to play basketball with, oh there is his son but lets just pretend he isn't there. Oh joy my wife had another girl now I can wait years for her to grow up and then I can teach her to play.....but lets forget there my son but who wants to bond with him anyways......I can't imagine how this set up just makes it seem like he can only be happy with a daugther

The real thing to worry about this movie. Around the time that this movie was filmed Jane Adams and Steve martin were dating. Steve plays George and Jane plays the young doctor that took over the birth of Steve and Annie's second daughter. I watching the movie one night on dinner and a movie and they told this information right before a commerial. I'm not against it. Now I can't watch those monents when he thanks her in the hall, without thinking about the two of them dating.

That must have been so uncomfortable! With all the jokes throughout the movie of how old George was and how young the doctor was. Wow

Fathers do tend to worry more about there daughters though, maybe he was more concernded with Anni because he trusted that Matt could look after himself.

I know if I ever have a daughter and a son, I'll probably worry more about her, it's just the way guys think

It's really creepy how much attention George gives to his bitchy daughter while completely neglecting his son, who appears to be a good kid.

Remisser, I tend to agree with you. Hes too obsessed with Annie. I'm surprised they even showed him playing basketball with his son!

yeah he always seem to ignore his son!

True, but then again, look at Annie and Matt's age difference. She was around 14 when he came along, so for the longest time Annie was the only one and George was probably a little more bonded to her because of that.
