trying to convince my drama teacher to do this

anyone have any ideas on what i can tell her to convince her to do this play? we have a drama club of around 20 or so people, and my teacher keeps on saying how this isnt a big costume musical piece. anyone have any ideas?

But I am alive. And I am not afraid.

I would suggest a trade-off. If you do two shows a year, then you may suggest a large non-musical that could balance things out. I actually run a high school drama program, and I am in the same boat. (Enroll in my school and we'll team up!)

If you have a drama club and *they* are sold on the play, you may want to approach her, having spoken with all of them. If you can get the other kids to agree that the show is worth doing, despite the smallish cast size, you may be in good luck. Think of it as an ensemble. Thinking about the show, between publicity, stage managers, tech crew, designers, house managers, and actors, you easily have stuff for 20 people to do. If everyone knows that not everyone will get an on-stage part -- but WILL have some kind of connection to the show -- then you may have a selling tool.

You can also sell her on the show being cheap to do well, easy to manage, PG-rated (despite the rape song, which I would not change), and one of the most beloved and long-running shows in all of American theatre. Those are a lot of plusses.
